A great source of info comes from the North American Fisherman Magazine. There's a section of the website that gives tips and tricks, from types of fishing lines to boat prep. Lot of tips here and video on this site. One of my favorites is knot wars. Different types of fishing line are tested with different types of knots and actually put to the test using a tension machine. Every year someone comes up with creative knots and they are put to the test here.

Record Catch In Georgia
The fish is 49-inches long and weighs 80-pounds 4-ounces. That's five pounds heavier than the previous state record.
Earnest Timpson of Edison caught the catfish Tuesday night below the dam near Ft. Gaines using fillets from a little white bass he caught minutes earlier.

Crappie Fishing
Well folks this is how I started off my 2010 fishing season. I really wanted to catch a tub full of crappie this year however on this fishing trip we were not so blessed. Ha! As soon as I caught this nice little crappie the bottom fell out. Dreaded rain. Happens to the best of us. At least I was able to get out on the water for a short while and now I'm ready to try again. Maybe this time it will be sunshine and blue sky's.

My daughter "Kyla" came up from Albertville, AL. and what a day she had fishing. She was catching all kinds of fish from small to large. We started about 7:30 in the morning ready to go. Fishing on the Tennessee River at Chickamauga Dam and a little cool that time of the morning. Seems like every cast she made she caught something. Dad didn't do so good. Well all I could do was watch as she kept landing on after another. Maybe I wasn't holden my mouth right besides what fish could resist that smile.
Pretty spotted bass which gave her a good fight and brought smiles to her face. Fishing at Chicamauga Dam has a lot to offer. You can go up and down the river and catch plenty of fish and as you can see from the pics it offers a wide variety to choose from. Southern fishing at its best. It's times like these that are very special moments to be remembered for ever. To me this great time to spend with your kids and a great God given peace time.
Well this topped it all folks. My daughter caught these two big catchfish and had a ball. Blue cat are very pretty fish and plentiful at the Dam. Just have to find where they are hanging out and then the fun begins. This was my daughter's biggest catch of the day and she loved it. These two big catfish gave her a struggle getting them to the boat. The smiles tell it all.
